In the Fieldwork Series I mark time and place by tracing rock shadows. Using the local geography and changing atmospheric conditions, this site specific work is ephemeral and preserved through photography. The drawing, rock portrait, and shadow only convene once. The act of drawing becomes a fieldwork ritual, remembering our human relationship to our common home planet, solar system, and expansive galaxy.
